Microsoft has confirmed the closure of Aces Game Studio, the internal developers behind the company's Flight Simulator series. The first Flight Simulator game debuted in 1982, the most recent title Flight Simulator X was released in 2006 followed by an expansion pack in 2007. Further products were in the works.
